I have had Agfa Heartlab for 9 years and my recent upgrade is fantastic.
It is smoking fast, hippa complient and user friendly. Being Administrator of
the system, I can create any sentence I want to accommodate any physician.
Service is the best as I have never had any significant issues with it.

Subject: RE: [echocardiography] PACS SYSTEM
Hi all! I have absolutely no dog in this fight, I don't work for or
sell any PACS equipment. In my experience each of the companies have something
to bring to the table. One of the key issues with the adoption of PACS over the
years has been the absence of any company that had a complete package across
all imaging disciplines. Having said that I can say this about
echocardiography - Digisonics is, in my opinion, one of the finest and most professionally
managed companies I have known over my 30 years in ultrasound - and yes,
Digisonics pre-dates that! In a field where companies have come and gone in
droves over the years Digisonics has remained and prospered. And you have
to ask the question; why in a field that has had so many companies come and go
over the years has this one company survived? I recently had a comprehensive
demo of their product at the ASE meeting in Washington DC and I got the
answer to the preceding question - the system is easy to use,
affordable, and complete (for echocardiography). I have also looked at all
the other products on the market, there are some other very good ones out there
too. But, if I were in the market for a "pacs" echocardiography
centric system I would lean toward the Digisonics product. At least you should
call them before making your decision. Good luck.

Well, I'm sure you'll get an earful on this
one...
How many echoes do you average per month? What's the physician workflow
like (e.g., are they willing/able to point and click, or do they dictate; do
want everything on one workstation, or just echoes)?
Do you want autopopulation of calc/report data? What systems do you want to
connect to it (which US manufacturer; which ECG, etc., etc.)? Do you need
interfaces with EHR/EMR/HIS/RIS or other systems? Etc., etc., et cetera...
There's an infinite range of possibilities between CVIIS, PACS,
reporting-only and imaging only systems.
You'll need to cogitate on exactly what you need...and what you can pay for.
I'd suggest you talk to Digisonics. But then, I work for Digisonics.
