Hello everyone. My name is Kim Brooks. I live in Bartlesville and am
the facilitator of the Bartlesville Autism support group, which is
now getting underway. We also have the Grand Lakes Autism Support
planning on starting up by the first of August and we hope to have
some newer Yahoo members on this group once they get going.
A quick profile on me. I have 3 boys. My oldest is 22 and NT
(neurotypical), Logan, my middle is 11 and moderate to sever autism,
and my youngest son is 9 and NT. Logan will be going into middle
school so we are dealing with some new changes. I started the
Bartlesville group because there was no active group here where
parents and others could come together to share their experiences and
also get local information. I am very excited about this as we have
some wonderful plans for the future and we also encourage your help
to make this successful.

As a moderator of this group, I just want to remind everyone of a
couple of rules to keep this a friendly place and as safe as possible.
1. No flaming or bashing will be accepted. Keep in mind there are
different perspectives concerning autism. What might work for one
person or family may not work for another but that does not make
something wrong. If a problem arises with this, please let me know so
we can try to resolve it.
2. No SPAM. Selling or promoting products (fundraisers, home parties
etc.) not related to autism will not be allowed. Please understand, I
am a parent involved in school and extra curricular fundraisers too
but, it is best to do these offline. We all get hit with these at
home and work. Again, lets keep this group open for discussions and
fun. What will be ok is if someone asks about a product or food
related to autism and then by all means you can share what you know
about this. Or, you have found something related to autism that works
and just want to share in case someone else wants to research. Just
use good judgment.

Thank you all for your interest and let's keep this going. Encourage
anyone you know in the local area, who deals with anything on the
spectrum, to check us out.

Kim
