I'd like to hear from other Floor Timers out there. What has it been like for you? What progress have you seen? I once thought if I couldn't give it 20 hours a week, it might not be beneficial, but I'm seeing exactly the opposite. I've been incorporating it into our evening routine and bits and pieces of time on the weekends and I'm astounded at the results we're getting. Landon is much more engaged, eye contact is better, and speech is starting to come forth. I did find out that I expect too little of him. I've started asking things of him that a non-autistic child would be expected to do, not exactly sure what the results would be, and he's surprised me every time. I found that I jumped in much too soon to help him, when he really didn't need my help in most instances.
I'd like to hear from others out there. What have you learned and what progress have you seen? For those who haven't experienced Floor Time yet and would like to learn, we have a video workshop which will be scheduled in the future (very soon for those in Muskogee) and maybe a workshop by a live person too!
