Appointment at 10am Friday and had to return at 9am Monday with a 24
collection of urine and a 2 day collection of nasel mucus. These are
for further testing. Be prepared to do much paper work at the
initial office visit in addition to the premailed question sheets and
requested data/information. Blood taken at both appointments.
4 persons involved here: Diane the receptionist, Vasily the
smell/taste recorder and Alex the data collector and of course the
well known and respected Dr. Henkin.
Alex is first to go over the diet sheets requested of you before
arriving, 2 days of very detailed intake. Then off to Vasily who
gives drops on your tongue of various sweet, sour, bitter, salt and
further with a nose test for your smelling ability. Then a lengthy
interview/discussion with Dr. Henkin while he is taking pertinent
notes. Back to Alex for a 10 minute withdrawal (collection) of
saliva using lemon juice to activate your saliva glands above the
tooth line. Finished with that Diane tells me that I have a few more
papers that I did not complete, opps. Appointment finished after
approx 4 1/2 hours and Im off to pick up my wife and do some
surrounding memorials.
What Dr. Henkin and staff received from this appointment was a
collection of physical and non physical data, to be analized. What I
discovered was that the sensations that I had at times in response to
foods was in fact that I was tasting but so minute that it was
unidentifiable. That was somewhat good news.
till next appointment on Monday
Harry, will post that one tomorrow as I have to leave.
