A few weeks but on and off. The dramatic changed ocurred after my last surgery (sinus and polyps) . It has been 2 years since my last surgery, the only medication that I take is a very low dose of the nasal spray Beconase, ocean spray a few times a day and my free gluten diet. I also have to tell you that my homeopathic doctor gave me during my very first visit some pills that you take under your tongue and only for a few days and you dont have to take them anymore. I highly recommend the visit to a homeopathic doctor for an evaluation. I dont remember ever having such a strong sense of smell and taste as I have now, I know the medication and the free gluten diet did the trick. Good luck

Hi, how long did it take for your new Gluten free diet to work?
I will try anything to get my senses back.

Dear Linda, I have never used that machine but I regained my sense of smell by visiting a homeopathic doctor ( a real one). She told me I have intolerance to gluten and I can tell you since I stopped eatring bread and pasta I am a different person. I also use a nasal spray precribed by my regular doctor but I know that alone dont do the trick. I highly recommend the diet, I was having polyps and sinus problems since I was a teenager and had 2 mayor surgeries, the polyps always came back after a year or so. I also had massive doses of cortisone and the cure was always temporary. I hope this could help you, I know the feeling, take care, Mireya S

I have a history of ent problems, a few years ago i had a FESS (functionial endescopic sinus surgery) to hopefully help the chronic sinutis and remove polphys. the polphys grew back again after a year and had to have them removed again.I feel my problems are from perennel rhinitus, I have tried no end of supplements anti-histames etc. A few weeks ago I watched the programme 'This morning' and they showed a machine that helps to combat hayfever and allergy problems, its supposed to use light therapy. I really miss my sense of smell so I will try anything to aid the recovery of it. I would be really interested to know if anyone else has used this machine. I have ordered one myself so fingers crossed!!!Send instant messages to your online friends http://uk.messenger.yahoo.com
