The first time I took prednisone I had a nasty elevation of blood pressure.  Since then I have been on medication for blood pressure and the prednisone does not elevate it as much, but I always keep an eye on my bp when using prednisone.  Kenalog comes on much more slowly, and I have never noticed any change in bp associated with the Kenalog.  I should add that once the Kenalog is injected into deep muscle, there is no getting it out, it will be slowly reseased from there for weeks.  It might be a good idea to do a burst of prednisone first to see if you have any bad reactions to such a steroid -- if so, you can just stop taking the prednisone.

     I also live here in Australia - I have been thinking of trying kenalog injection - Karl says it can trigger high blood pressure.  I actually suggested this to my ENT but he says it does not stay long. I'm scheduled to sinus surgery but I have always put it off because I am  paranoid
of the side effects.
