Shelli,
Here is some interpatation for you. I am sorry they didn't explane it better at
the meeting. I am an LD teacher in California. The law states that your child
needs to have a signifiant discrepency between his ability and his achivement
(about 23 points). His ability is measured by the Wechsler Intelligence Scale
for Children - IV and his acivemnt is measured by The Norris Education
Achievement Tests. One hunderd is about avarage on the test that show numbers
close to 100.

On his intelligence tests he scord right around 100.
Verbal Comprehension 108
Perceptual Reasoning 112
Working Memory 88
Processing Speed 100
Full Scale 105

On his ability tests he also scored right around 100.
Spelling 97
Arithmetic 91
Word Reading 108
Reading Comp. 100

There is no signifiant discrepency between his abiliy and achivement. The only
realitively low score deals with his working memory.

Hope that helps,
Rob

Subject: [Dyslexia Club] What do you think of these scores?

I had my son tested by a neuropsychologist this past June and the results
are below. I showed this to his teacher and we had meetings with the school
psych, a social worker, the principle, his teacher and the ld teacher. After
a few meetings they basically said they he's doing ok. He is getting Cs in
his classes only because I check all of his homework and help him correct
it. Can anyone interpret these scores for me? Would anything here qualify
him for help? I'm in Illinois if that makes a difference. My son was 10
years, 2 months when this was done. He'll be 11 yrs old this month. He's
been having problems since first grade with reading. The reading seems to
have gotten better this year but he still has problems everywhere else.

Shelli
