RE: [Dyslexia Club] gettin' the run around
I would like to send a cyber hug ((( ))).....We have also been through
the mill trying
to find help for our dd. My dd will be 9 this April. I have homeschoolded
her since the
beginning.
I was in the same boat, nobody knew where we could have her tested. I
kept
asking around and found a new office in a local town. They tested her for a
reasonable
price and found her to have dyslexia. She also has some severe memory
deficits.
My dd was then referred to a private CLP/SLP who is using the
association
method with her. We go twice a week 1/2 an hour each time. You can also
purchase
this program for your own use.
This has been time well spent for our dd. Maybe if you look in your
local yellow pages
you may find someone like this. The office is called an 'Intervention
Center'. It is quite
expensive but my dd is finally reading.
Our schools are also 20 years behind the rest of the states in this
area.
I hope you find the help you need.
Chris
I hope my rambling has helped.
