Hello all,
I am also a new member, I am a research scientist and
I also consisder it my gift. I have been able to
overcome most of the outwards signs of dyslexia yet
there are some things which will never leave. I focus
on the positives when I can.
I would love to spend more time with people like me
who are dyslexic. I feel there is a lot that is being
done for dyslexic kids, but still most often the
brightests of them slip through the mesh of that web.
That is an awful lot of human potential that is wasted
of what may be the best of what humanity has.
I also feel dyslexia is a misnomer and I hate it
because it decieves people into thinking it is merely
contol of language, writing and reading but it
actually an entire different way of thinking and even
feeling. One can overcome most of the disadvantages of
this different mindset with hard work. Getting other
people to understand the gift we actually offer and
getting them to accept that is something entirely
different. I would like to find some ways in which we,
as a small but very significant minority can make
ourselves strong and be heard as a group.
I hope to hear more and to forward to being able to
correspond/chat with many more of you,
Vince
