Kyla ~ Our insurance paid because of the referral from the neurologist.
You could call and find out if your insurance will pay and under what
circumstances. We had such a positive experience with the
neuropsychologist that I would recommended this route. My oldest son
saw a psychologist, a psychiatrist and a neurologist for ADD and none of
them did much testing to see if he had any other learning problems and
we didn't know enough at the time to insist on a complete battery of
tests. Complete testing was the first thing the neuropsychologist did.
You might call a school for blind and dyslexic in your state for a
referral. The doctor we used in on the board of directors for the
school in our city (Austin) and is very active and involved with a
special school for dyslexic children. ~deni~
