I think I have Myoshi dystrophy and have recently started experiencing more knee
joint pain. Interestingly this has come on since I started driving again. I
spent a year without a car (walking fairly short distances daily) and remained
relatively fine, but now I'm walking much less and driving daily and I'm finding
I have quite a bit of knee pain. I do try to be quite active (and possibly
overdo it sometimes) and I worry a bit about the damage I'm doing to my joints
given that they don't have as much muscle to support them anymore. Does anyone
have any suggestions for knee/joint care, supplements/medications maybe? Is this
maybe just an adjustment period? Any suggestions appreciated.

I also have miyoshi myopathy. I am 57 and for the last 28 years I have been walking with knees hyperextended to keep my balance. I have been having pretty bad knee pain for the last couple of years. Anti-inflammatories work fairly well and I am careful not to sit for very long. I get up and walk around a bit every hour. I would also like to know if anyone has other suggestions.

Thanks for your message Kimberly. It's really good to know that you are still walking with Myoshi. I'm 31 now and seem to be progressing/degenerating relatively slowly but I really don't know what to expect. Sounds like keeping active is working for you maybe. Thanks.
