There is an excellent book by Alan Emery called "Muscular Dystrophy: The
Facts." It is very comprehensive, but it is aimed at the lay person and
includes sections on the basic biology of muscular dystrophy, diagnostic
techniques, types of muscular dystrophy and ideas for therapy, such as gene
transfer. The word "dysferlin" appears twice in the index, but this is more
of a basic text on muscular dystrophy in general.
You order it from Amazon.com
(http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0192632175/qid=1018909723/sr=8-1/ref
=sr_8_67_1/102-6116328-6406517) for $19.95, or possibly from the publisher,
which is Oxford University Press.
I think Kate Bushby's book is more of a lab manual than a general info.
book--very technical!
Good luck!
