Re: [duane's] Re: Operation recovery rate

Hi Debbie

Ditto for us. Emily had both her operations on a Tuesday and was back in school on the Thursday. You have to be careful to keep the eye clean - no playing in the sand pit or similar, and no swimming for about a month.  Eye drops, if I remember rightly, 4 times a day for the first week or so, and then slighlty less frequently.

Recovery form the operation shouldn't be a problem.  However, you may well be asked to attend the eye clinic a couple of days after the operation for a post op check, and I think these post op checks were normally on the Friday after the operation (it may have been Thursday - it was a long time ago!).

You might want to check this out.  You may however be able to get an post op follow up appointment on a different day so it might not be a problem.  If your experience is anything like ours, you'll probably get some feedback after the operation anyway as the Surgeon does a ward round to talk to the parents when as soon as finished his list for the day.

Let me know if you need any more info.  Good luck with both the operation and the move.

Carol

I agree. I was also out sightseeing the
Day after and I flew half way across the
Country the day after surgery with no problems.
