Hi All

I've recently been to see my original Dr who diagnosed my daughters Duane's. I
hasn't happy with his view of treatment, e.g none as its purely cosmetic, so I
have another appointment with Mr patrick Watts at Cardiff hospital in Wales, UK.
He has worked with other members for Duane's with great success.

Anyway, the original Dr was quite negative about any treatments or surgery's and
highlight a couple of negative sides to surgery. His main problem was that
currently my daughter brain can shut off the Duane's eye when they become
crossed, so she won't see double vision. If we give her surgery he feels that
the brian will become confused and OK it will look better cosmetically, but she
will see more double vision. Is this the case and also what other negatives
sides are their to surgery.

Thanks in advance!

Debbie and Matilda

I do feel he was incompetent. In our first appointment he told me to take a picture from her right side, therefore no one will notice she is cross eyed, I was...

Hi Debbie We were told that the biggest risk of eye muscle surgery was under or over correction and the possible need for repeat surgeries. We were warned that...

I would just like to add the comment on one complication following VRT - vertical deviation. I believe it is from repositioning the superior or inferior muscle...
