Paul Thank you for the article. I am finding more and more research regarding my illnesses, yet no suggestions on where and how to be treated.
A woman contacted me regarding chemical exposure in Saudi which resulted in pretty much all of my illnesses. They are linked with mycoplasma infections that are treatable with a long term combined antibiotic protocol. ( I will forward her email to you.)
This is what I have tried...on my own with a private doctors assistance. I started this treatment twice, both times resulting in severe uncontrollable pain for which the level of pain medication provided to me by the VA would not help ease one bit.
When bringing this information to the VA hospital in DC, they told me they could not justify treating this condition and would not provide me with the antibiotics. Therefore I had to stop my treatment because I could no longer afford the medication and suppliments needed to maintain a safe amount of good bacteria in my system.
I brought documentation, from the VA website, stating this mycoplasma infection was caused in soldiers during the timeframe I was deployed. I also brought the treatment protocol information........but they would not do anything to help me.
If you have any suggestions of how I can get proper healthcare I would appreciate it.
I am very frustrated. My VA and SS disability cases are going on 5 1/2 years now. I have no money, no place to live, and no healthcare other than massive amounts of medications I receive from the VA.
I am still in Georgia looking into housing down here. I am about to contact the local vet center to set up an appointment. I will also be contacting the local church to see if there is temporary housing available for displaced vets and or volunteer assistance in possibly renovating part of my brothers basement into a bedroom for me.
Thanks Kelly
