Take Action
S 161 - Veterans' Disability Compensation Automatic COLA Act

Please send the following editable text to your Senators –
As your constituent and a veteran with service connected disability, I urge your co-sponsorship and active support of S 161, the Veterans' Disability Compensation Automatic COLA Act, introduced by Senator John Thune on February 1, 2007.
S 161 would automatically adjust VA disability compensation and widows’ dependency and indemnity compensation (DIC) payments by the same percentages as are currently in place for Social Security Benefits cost of living adjustments (COLA).
While the direct benefit is to disabled veterans and their widows, an indirect benefit would be to reduce the recurring workload of the Congress which now must act on such legislation every year (e.g. as Senator Akaka’s S 243).
Again, please co-sponsor and actively support S 161.  Please advise me of your intentions.
