You are so good at explaining the VSG.
Thanks :)
I too am so glad I got this type of surgery done. One thing I am happy about. I know for the most part I'm not really hungry, but my stomach is still my stomach. It does tell me if I'm hungry,,it will growl and I do get hungry,,,and I know It's truly time to eat. It tells me really quickly too that I'm full. Health wise,,I'm so happy I still feel the desire and "want" of real food. I've read where some others didn't really know if they were hungry or not and they lost alot of feelings and emotions that come with wanting to eat. I'm glad I get hungry,,,,It's usually not "major",,but It's enough to still make me enjoy that part of being human,,,"the need to eat,,and enjoy eating". I hope that made sense.
You said that so well and I agree.... that is so true to still be able to enjoy eating, but not be controlled by it. What a gift!! And like you, I know when I'm hungry and definitely know when I'm full.
I talked to a gal the other day.... can't remember if I contacted her or she contacted me.... I think she contacted me via Dr Joya's web site and she told me that she was having the bypass ... in 4 days. I asked her how she came to choose the bypass and she said that she didn't like the idea of the band. So, I of course, asked her if she had considered the sleeve and her understanding of it was that one had to weigh 500 lbs to qualify !! People just don't read carefully. So I sent her the part of Dr.Joya's explanation of the VSG, where it can now be done for those with lower BMI's (35+ ) Then I didn't hear from her until this morning when there was an email from her and she's changing her mind to have the VSG. She's going to talk to Dr. Joya about it first. I hope she gets the sleeve. I kind of think that Dr Joya doesn't care which surgery he does and figures that people have done their homework and research before putting their money down. Did you really talk to him before you went to surgery? I saw him very briefly was all.
Well, I hope my New Whey comes soon. I really think getting enough protein is the key to having energy. I seem to notice a difference in my energy level on the days after I think I was short in my protein. It tastes ok, but a bunch, three in a row over time.., it begins to seem too sweet and then I want something salty, so I have some broth.
But overall it is all good and I'm so glad to be on the losing side. I sure wish that there were more VSGers messaging on the VSG site for Dr Joya. I think people come to that site and check it out and only see a couple of us. They probably think we have 500 lbs to lose!
If you google New Whey you will find lots of sites that carry it and at varying prices. The best price should be around $25-26 for 12 vials.
Have a great week.
