-Hi Brittney and welcome to this forum. I don't come here very often,
as I and most people that have had the sleeve post on
WWW.Obesityhelp.com then under the forum go to vertical sleeve
gastrectomy. There you will find a very large number of people that
have just had the sleeve, planning on having the sleeve and others that
have had their sleeve for quites some time. There is also a FAQ site
there that will answer lots of your questions.
I had my sleeve with Dr. Joya on Sept 18 and so far have lost 54
lbs.... two more to go and I finally be under 200 again!! Whooo hooo. I
love my sleeve.
I my opinion, Dr.Joya as the best package. Gerald makes all of the
flight arraingements. In my case I got the flight numbers etc for my
companion, who I met up with in Los Angeles , then Gerald made sure
that we were able to connect and be seated together on the flight from
Los Angeles to PV.
My first contact was from the web site and the Gerald responded and
we talked for about an hour. I had lots of questions. I had an upper GI
done here, but Dr.Joya did another one when I was underanesthesia to be
sure that all was good to go. I was also sent a very very detailed
Medical History form to fill out. When I arrived in PV. There was
someone there to meet us and take us directily to the hospital. There
we were met by Natalie who went over all the consents with me and
weighed me and took me to the person to whom I gave my credit card and
paid the remaining $10,000. The first $1000 was a down payment to
Gerald to set a surgery date.
Then I was taken to my room and lab work was drawn, and EKG done and
a visit with the internist, who asked me more questions about my
health. Then I was off to the OR !! I arrived in PV at 4:10pm and was
in the OR by 6pm !!
The Krystal Hotel is beautiful and it is worth the $20/day to
upgrade to a room with a Bay of Banderas view. Yes, they have
elevators. It is a lovely place and you will be well cared for there.
It is a very safe place. I accidently left two nice diamond rings on
thebedside table and left with my friend to get something to eat at the
resturant. It was about two hours later when I realized what I had done
and I knew that the maids would have been in there by that time to
clean the room. When I returned the rings were still there, placed
under a little A-frame card on the table. I'm not sure that would have
happened here !!
