Hey there,
I just joined this post, but my advise is...you should only retighten
your dreads with a crochet hook, or whatever method you use only
about every three or four weeks. The fuzzyiness is a stage that all
locks go through, (some more than others) so just let them do their
thing.
Over time they will settle down and become more uniform
and less fuzzy. Locks go through stages, and you have to let the
stages take place at their own pace. I think that alot of us make
the mistake of being too anxious about our locks, and we touch, gel,
beeswax, tighten, whatever to them too much. Try to relax and enjoy
the journey, and your locks will too. I tighten my locks using the
latch hook method. My hair is growing like crazy, (about 1/2 inch or
more every month) but I only retighten them once a month or so. Not
a day goes by that I dont get complimented (several sometimes from
different people) about my locks. Come next April it will be three
years for me wearing locks. If you retighen them too much, you will
put too much stain on the hair follicles and litteraly pull them out
by the roots. Just keep them clean and moisturized, and the rest
will follwow.
