Effect's Jojoba Wax is good for this. I think they have another brand
at Sally's as well called dreads gel or something, but I can't vouch for
their quality because I haven't used it. I've heard good things about
it though. Most of the rest of what's on the market is crap for dreads.

The hair wax usually lasts a week with one application so long as you
wear a wrap to bed, and washes out alot more easily than gel. Be
advised that being normally a professional product, it will keep it
tight, so easy on the twisting near the roots. However it sets in is
pretty much how it'll stay. It sets soft though.

If you don't want to use a wax for spiritual reasons, then you might try
tightening them with a latch hook tool or crochetting some wool cord
around the roots to help it matt naturally.

Blessings :)
