This group is open to anyone interested in laparoscopic weight loss surgery (bariatric surgery), the Laparoscopic Biliopancreatic Diversion with Duodenal Switch (BPD/DS), or Duodenal Switch (DS), the Laparoscopic RNY or Gastric Bypass, the Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy or the Lap-Band. It is oriented toward pre-operative and post-operative patients of Dr. Dennis Smith, at The Advanced Obesity Surgery Center in Marietta, Georgia. Dr. Smith, Advanced Obesity Surgery and WellStar Kennestone Hospital are Certified by the ASBS as a "Center of Excellence" in Bariatric Surgery.

Dr. Smith performs the Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy with Duodenal Switch (BPD/DS), the Lap Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (RNYGB), the Lap Sleeve Gastrectomy and the Lap-Band.

This is meant to be a supportive and informative community for patients. There are areas for patients to post their personal information for others in the community, and there are downloadable documents that help patients both pre-op and post-op. This is a moderated forum.
