There are good low-carb pastas available now, or you can get one of these www.ronco.com and make your own.
I've found that eating what dieticians call 'a portion' doesn't leave me satisfied and/or I get hungry before the next mealtime. I suspect that 'a portion' is based on what will satisfy a petite woman; I happen to be a large man.

Subject: RE: [diabetes_recipes] need your helpI also recommended thst you learn what a portion size is and be sure that you are only eatting the number of servings recommended by the dietician. It made a difference for me. I don't eat all of the pasta I can with spaghetti sauce (which has a lot of sugar in some cases), garlic bread and salad with dressing and ice cream all in the same meal. I pace them and moderate the number of carb servings per meal. It not only made a difference in my blood glucose levels, but also in how I feel. Pasta can cause a surge in your sugars if not eaten in smaller amounts. Why not add vegetables to your pasta sauce too.Donna
