Allright members....just joined this group because I need some
help.I'm a type 2 and have been under control for about 6 years. All
of a sudden, I'm testing and getting readings of over 400. I guess
its time to drastically change my diet (you need to understand that I
haven't had to do that yet. I actually could eat anything and be ok
just taking glypizide once a day.) Ican adjust somethings but I do
have a few downfalls that I need to find yummy substitutes for. The
biggest one is ice cream. I LOVE IT!!!!!!! I've tried sugar free
brands that are in the supermarket and I don't like them. I've been
spoiled over the years and it has to be creamy and it has to be real.
No fillers. This may sound weird but I can actually taste the
difference. Trust me, I was once challenged to do a taste test and I
passed with flying colors. The other is bread and chips. I make
homemade bread all the time and a great snack for me is homemade
salsa with tortilla chips. The last food is pasta. I could eat it
everyday. The low carb pasta I've had is awful.
So I turn to all of you who may already have adjusted your
eating habits. Do I need to cut these items out of my life and be
miserable or do you have recipes and brands that I can use to keep
them in my culinary world. I realize you all may have done this for
someone else before(I haven't read ANY posts yet. I will as soon as I
send this) so you can send directly to me instead of posting to the
group if you want to

I appreciate any and all suggestions.
thanks in advance
