Thank him and refuse.  Just my opinion.   I had venison once and didn't care for it.

Try to read labels on all food products. It won't take long to see the differences in products so choices will be easier. Also cook books for diabetic cooking ...

Venison is only "horrid" if you get a buck in rutting season for instance. Generally the reason people find venison tough is that they overcook it or cook it...
