you folks also might cooking natural. When I was first diagnosed last year I ran out and bought a diabetic cookbook. I don't use it a lot now. I truly eat like my family does, only I watch my carb intake - and yes the calories.

I need to radically alter my diet and lose weight (about

The doctor has put me on an 1800 cal. per meal diet (no more coke or
chocolate, dammit!) yet I can't seem to put it together. I need to
know where I can get a cookbook or other sources of recipes so that I
can begin building meal plans for myself.
Welcome, i was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about 4 weeks ago. My doc wanted me on a 1200 calorie diet. As far as cookbooks, i've been going to my local library. They have dozens of Diabetic Cookbooks out there. Luckily i have an all in one machine that has a photo copier and i've been making my own binder filled with recipes and info. So, try your library first....it's so much cheaper than trying to buy the same books elsewhere!
