Hello and Blessings to All in the Reiki forum,
If you're interested in a distance healing opportunity, I would like
to ask you to please send Reiki my friend Danaya Brown, who is
battling end-stage leukemia in Stanford Hospital near Palo Alto,
California. Danaya is a sweet, wonderful woman who deserves a
beautiful life - all treatments tried so far have failed, and she has
been told she has less than a few weeks to live. Please also pray
for/send Reiki to Danaya's husband Mark, to help him through this
very trying time. You'll find as you connect with Danaya that few
have sweeter, more loving energy than she - all who have worked with
her consider it an extreme blessing. ;-)
My Reiki teacher has flown in to help and we have been giving Danaya
daily treatments and attunements but the more, the merrier. I have
never seen a disease so virulent. I have put pictures of Danaya plus
her story (with permission, of course) at my website for healers to
focus on:

Thank you, and many Blessings to you...
Maryam Webster, friend of Danaya
Although there are many wonderful Reiki Master Teachers out there, I
also want to bring about an awareness that there are others passing
themselves off as Reiki Master Teachers....
I met a lady the other day on the phone as we did an interview
together. I'll call her Grace, she was looking for a Reiki Teacher
she could study with...although Grace was, on paper, a 'Reiki Master'
herself, she felt she did not gain the knowledge or the tools to teach
Reiki. Grace said she learned Reiki, all three levels, First Degree,
Second Degree, and the Mastership, in a weekend. Grace admited when
she became more knowledgable and able to teach, she would not teach
the Mastership in one day, as was her experience. Instead she would
spend more time helping intergrate Reiki into her student's lives.
Granted, there are those who may be exceptional at learning or
teaching and at that place of 'just being Reiki', but there are an
unlimited amount of souls who don't have this blessing.
Most people need to intergrate the information they learn, work with
the healing energies and kinda let it perculate, just like a good pot
of soup! If the teacher doesn't have the right understanding or using
something that was taught to them incorrectly, then they pass it on.
Of course those of us who teach know and are grateful that Intention
is the saving grace blessing.
As it stands, Grace will need to further her 'studies' with another
Master Teacher so she can learn how to teach classes and do the
initiations. This is invaluable knowledge if you ever plan to teach
it to someone else.
It was mentioned in the postings that one teacher did not initiate....
Now, and not to offend anyone, that seems unreasonable to me... even
if we all have this innate power within us, it is my understanding
there needs to be an initiation process to further charge and bring
out the clarity and focus of the innate. Sure, we can grope and try
to find our way, but if there is a road map, why not use it... thus
is the importance of the teacher and the initiation process... it is
a Ceremony.
I firmly believe in the interview process... When prospective
students call, after the interview, we both know if we want to work
together. I have asked the Universe to bring me a certain quality of
students and if they do not meet those qualifications or I feel there
may be a personsality conflict, then I would prefer they find another
teacher. There are so many teachers just as there are many students
and it is important that one not take a student just because there is
money involved. In the interview process, if you find your selected
teacher does not give initiations (attunement), I suggest you find
another teacher. If you have already had the Reiki I class, then I
would approach the teacher and ask to be initiated.... I can't tell
you the importance the initiation ceremony is to me and my students.
It is at that time if Spirit has a message, it will reveal that
message to me or the student or when the student perhaps may have a
profound and deep personal experience with themself. Two excellent
books to read are Reiki Energy Medicine:Hospital & Hospice and Reiki:
Hawayo Takata Story by Helen Haberly.
I wish each of you all the healing and understanding your hearts
desire.
Blessings to each of you great souls, Sharon
Greetings Great Ones
Spring has deffinately come to different parts of the country... while
others are experiencing different seasons in other areas of the world.
As the seasons may be different, the essence of Reiki is not.
Being that my visits and participation are infrequent with the group,
In 1998, I set up Devi's Reiki as an unmoderated group... meaning you
may say what you want within reason and anyone can take
the lead in giving their best heart answers when it pertains to any
and all aspects of Reiki healing.
However, I noticed there was information coming in that was not
related to Reiki and the group seemed to drop off a tad with the
postings.
Although the information was interesting, but quite unrelated to
Reiki, I removed them. I hope you don't mind that I did this...there
are other sites one can go to, I just want us to get back on track
with the wonderful subject of Reiki, as it is so vast.
Briefly I glanced over your messages and coorespondances, and I would
like to make a couple comments....
I will continue with this on another posting to make sure I didn't
exceed the maximum word limit...
Blessings ...Sharon

I am going to see if I can get this book. Sounds like something I may be
interested in doing. Thank you so much.
Marlene
I have tried Gassho meditoation and prefer doing it everytime before
a reiki session : it gives me a wonderful feeling of being engulfed
in Gos's love and a complete feeling of surrender to his love.

No, Paula Horan doesn´t talk about Gassho Meditation in her book(s).
Gassho meditation is talked about by Usui sensei and he recommended
doing it twice a day.
You can read more about it in Hiroshi Doi fabulous book, or even
learn much more by doing it.
Much love on a blustery Spring afternoon.

It is my belief that if the person does not wish
for the energy then the energy will not flow. Reiki
will not go where it is not wanted.... even if needed.
Does not take away freedom of choice.... at least that
is my own belief.
Lite
Hello I was just reading through the messages....
I was taught that Reiki is just like a muscle the
more you use it the stronger that it will get. Also...
sometimes the practitioner or the client won't "feel" much
of anything.... Reiki is individual to the path that
only YOU are supposed to be on. It has similar affects
and symptoms shall we say... such as heat radiating
from the hands or the person feeling more relaxed; but
this does not always happen. I encourage you not to
give up... for some it has taken months and even years
before they have been able to feel or percieve the
energy that has always been coursing through them. I
wish you peace and light in you endeavors!
Lite
It's not necessary to do a 21 day fast on a pray
mountain, which is how Dr. Usui formulated the Reiki system
in the beginning. But to really understand the depth
of it I would suggest something of the sort.

I had a Reiki patner who's hand got colder as she
let the energy flow. (She went off on her own path).
Strange, but I've seen others too. The apparent temp. of
your hands isn't important.

Relax. There is a
flow that continues even when you aren't aware of it.,

(I'd also say - my opinion - that if you were told
your attunenet would only last 21 days then there is a
problem with the tradition you are beng taught. Reiki is
a path of Spiritual unfolding. It continues as long
as you live once you have been introduced. )
hey there.

shamless plug - check out
william lee rand's book - manual for reiki. there is a
section in there about passing reiki back to the source
or to you particular enlightened being (depending on
your religion i guess..)

anyways - the way i
did it was to begin my nightly "reiki list" - and to
send distant healings to whomever was on the list for
that night. so from this focus i ended with a healing
on myself and then decided to take the advice from
the book and send out distant healing to (my
perception of) God. the feeling i received back was very
intense - the energy that passed through was magnified -
thats the only way i can explain it. really - go and
try it. it was absolutley amazing - so much so that i
didnt get much sleep, i was in utter awe of the
experience.

as for the convulsions bit - personally i tend to
shake or "vibrate" when i channel reiki, but the
magnification of the energy made my whole body shake for about
half an hour.
sounds weird, feels fab!

go
and try it - then let me

hello all, my name is Lorans and i am interested
in learning about reiki. i feel that once i have
learned more about it i may want to become a
practitioner.
i have always had an interest in
spirituality(and i meditate from time to time) but it hasn't been
roused into investigation until recently. believed it or
not, but my interest rose when i was watching a
streetfighter anime and the characters started using their
"ki". one usually hears "chi" more often. like most
japanimation, there was some historical reference and that's
what got me digging and eventually led me to here. i
checked out www.reiki.org and it was very informative. i
joined this club to get advice, tips, info, experience
of users, long-time practitioners, and novices
alike.
it seems to have very positive effects on the
recipients and users and is practical. i would like to do
more research but i am currently, temporarily bogged
down with final exams. however, if anyone has two
cents they want to add, i am all ears. thanks in

Healing Grounding Problems with Rainbow
Reiki
by Walter Lübeck, creator of Rainbow
Reiki.
Grounding problems have occurred for some people during or
after Reiki
treatments. While this rarely happens,
if it does, it is good to have a
method for
dealing with it. Also, ability to ground ones energy at
other
times is valuable. Being ungrounded can cause symptoms
like spontaneous
headaches, dizziness, nausea,
spontaneous pains or difficulty orienting
normally in
space and time.

Whenever these kinds of problems
occur you can use some simple Rainbow
Reiki
techniques to harmonize the flows of energy. Then the
symptoms
will
quickly fade away.

1. Use
Reiki at the soles of both feet. Increase the flow of
Reiki by
using the power symbol and it’s
mantra.
2. If this won’t work, use Reiki to both knees and
both ankles. By
applying the power symbol and its
mantra also this technique will work
more
effectively.
3. Balance both hemispheres of the brain by using
Reiki on the temples.
4. Balance the 6 main chakras
by applying Reiki on the 1st and 6th,
then
on
the 2nd and 5th, and at last on the 3rd and
4th.

Please make sure that after using the techniques
explained in point 3.
and
4. the techniques
described in point 1 and 2 should be applied for
some
time. Some physical labor, sports, having some food and
walking around
with bare feet also will increase the
abilities of the body to ground
itself. Alcohol, tobacco
products and other drugs, fasting and all kind
of
energy work which concentrates on the head should be
avoided if
grounding
problems occur.
Visit

I am still new to Reiki and am learning as well
as you I believe that if the client wants healing
that is what's needed, besides the giver having good
intent and unconditional love for the receiver.

Marlene
Yes well my first attunement was a group
attunement. Not a typical one that I have heard of people
getting. Then I have received a distant attunement which
actually felt more powerful to me. So I am still learning.
Are you saying that the receiver has to be
receptive to the energy for it to work? if they don't
believe would that effect it? I thought it didn't
matter.

Carrie
I believe the most important thing to remember is
that the receiver is the one drawing the healing
energy from you, originating from the universe or God,
according to your beliefs. We must also be loving
unconditionally and with good intent while doing it.

Have
you had any of the attunements yet?

Love and
Peace,
Marlene
I am new to Reiki and I have been using it here
or there on my family and myself. I am wondering how
any of you have used Reiki to help yourself or
others. I'd like to hear some stories.
I became
interested in Reiki for my own health problems but I really
would like to be able to help my husband when he has
migranes or my children they are sick. As of yet I have
had no major success. I really do believe that if I
stick with it I will get the hang of it and I can help
myself and others so if anybody could give me some
encouragement about what you have been able to help with I'd
really appreciate it.

Thank you,
Carrie
Yes, I use the distance healing symbol when I
have used the teddy bear. It is amazing how much heat
I feel when doing it. I believe intent is critical
to do this. I don't even try doing it when tired or
am busy with alot of things on my mind. Perhaps I am
wrong in doing it this way, but it seems to work for
me.

I should also add that when I have done my Reiki I
and II, it was with 2 Catholic sisters. When I was
being taught the hand positions, before my first
attunement, she took in alot of energy. The attunements are
to increase our energy and has some healing effects
on me that I truely am glad I had them.

Love
and Peace,
Marlene
my personal teaching has been to regard the
secrecy of the symbols with respect, and to maintain the
secrecy until a student has trained enough and
experienced enough to use the symbols effectivly.
so i
suppose i am doing reiki as i have been
taught...

love + light..
If you think the "symbols" have any need of being
hidden you are distracted by the covering over Reiki (or
whatever). Don't worry about what others know or don't. Do
your Reiki as you were taught. The rest is just
distractions.
voddiegirl,
I appreciate answers from anyone
who wants to answer...so thank you for yours!
I am
going to study with a teacher in January, just trying
to learn as much as I can now.
Thanks!
DJ
