Greetings! My name is Debi Tripp, and I am a wedding officiant and reflexologist in Old Hickory. This page is for:

a) Witchy Women who live in the Hermitage/Old Hickory/Madison, Tennessee areas who want to meet and have some comraderie. This could possibly turn into regular meetings. My background consists of a Christian upbringing which I blend with Celtic/Earth-based Spirituality and the Craft. I will be attending Cherry Hill Seminary this summer.

It is also b) a drumming circle that is forming soon for ladies in the same area. We invite nice, kind, down-to-earth, fun, honest, and open-minded women.

About the drumming: Creating music with drums is an active form of meditation. It is very therapeutic! It is as if you were packing up your troubles and sending them off with the sound waves! Often, while drumming, questions are answered and clarity is achieved. This is because the thinking (left) brain is put on hold, and we allow our intuitive (right) brain to take over for a little while.
Drumming is good for your spirit...expressing yourself in a free-form, non-judgemental, improvisational environment like a drum circle can allow you to tap into very strong spiritual connections. It's primitive. It's basic. It is within us. At the end, you should feel released and rejuvenated.
No musical experience is necessary! A few tips will be offered, and off we'll go! If you don't have a drum, I recommend Sam Ash Music in the Rivergate area. Some drums start at about $30. Also, a lower decibal drum is better, as opposed to the higher pitched "pingy-sounding" drums. You may also want to purchase some earplugs that allow the rhythm to seep through. All spiritual backgrounds are welcome, as are daughters over the age of 10! Since we are celebrating women's spirituality, we will meet on the New Moon of each month, a nice time to begin again with a clean slate.
