I had a question posed to me by a pregnant woman
about the fact that Ultimate Classic and Tangy
Tangerine both have 10,000 IU of Vitamin A.<br>It is a well
known fact in most literature/press releases that
Pregnant women are not to consume more than 5,000 of
Vitamin A, a day for fear that the baby may get some
retardation.<br><br>I have heard Dr. Wallach talk about it many
times<br>but I still wasn't clear on excactly why it is O.K.
to take the 10,000 IU in the Majestic Earth
Products....<br>Well here is the answer in simple form complements of
Doc ED. Thanks
Doc..:-)<br>````````````````````````````````````````<br>"Don't
worry.<br><br>January 9, 2001, the US Academy's
Institute of Medicine held a press<br>release:<br>- "Fruits
and Vegetables Yield Less Vitamin A Than Previously
Thought;<br>Upper Limit Set for Daily Intake of Vitamin A and Nine
Other Nutrients."<br><br>The upper limit of safe daily
intake is set by the US Academy's<br>Institute of
Medicine to 3,000 micrograms of Retinol vit. A
Equivalent(RAE).<br><br>It is important to notice that 10,000 IU of vitamin
A in caroteen form (as in Ultimate) equals 1,000
micrograms of RAE. <br>Thus the vit. A content of Ultimate
is three times less than the safe daily upper limit
set by<br>the US Academy's Institute of
Medicine..<br><br>The press release from the US Academy's Institute of
Medicine was badly distorted by Associated Press.
Associated Press did not make a<br>difference between the
units, confounding Retinol vit A Equivalent (RAE) with
the IU of vitamin A in caroteen form Hence the panic
and the<br>publication by others of alarming "Press
Releases.""<br><br>Doc Ed.<br><br>```````````````````````<br><br>If you
