Attached is an electronic brochure of the March 17, 2007, CAPSGW Spring Symposium entitled Community Disasters - Preparing, Responding and Treating Trauma Related Disorders: What Clinicians Need to Know. This Symposium is being co-sponsored by the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and by the Jewish Social Service Agency.
This continuing education activity has been developed to educate
medical students, residents, non-physician mental health clinicians, general psychiatrists, and child psychiatrists and about the needs of children and families as a result of community disaster. As we live in
uncertain times in which natural disasters, terrorism, violent school events and war all can impact on the lives of American youngsters and their families, it is extremely important that our professional community be prepared to effectively respond and treat our children and their families.
Best wishes,
