From: Godleski, Linda Sent: Tuesday, January 09, 2007 4:13 PM To: VHA Telemental Health Field Work; VHA HQ MH VISN Liaison Group Cc: VHA Telemental Health FWG Support Subject: Special Fellow Opportunity with Focus on Telemental Health VA Special Fellow Opportunity: Psychiatric Research with Focus in Telemental Health: This is a recruitment announcement for a VA Special Fellow in Psychiatric Research with Focus in Telemental Health. If you know of any psychiatry resident or any practicing psychiatrist who might have an interest in applying for this post-residency fellowship, please have them contact Linda.Godleski2@... . The VA Special Fellowships Program offers post-residency fellowships to physicians in emerging health professions
of particular importance to VA and the nation. This specific fellowship would be under the mentorship of Linda Godleski, MD as VHA Lead of Telemental Health. While based at VA Connecticut Healthcare, there would be ample opportunity for active national involvement with the offices of Care Coordination and Mental Health at Central Office. A concurrent academic appointment at Yale is conceivable. The experience would involve clinical telemental health delivery along with outcomes analysis and national level implementation. General information about these special fellowships can be found at: http://www.va.gov The start date can be flexible but would likely approximate the 2007-08 academic year. The pay would be at the commensurate PG-Y rate, likely PGY-5. Since the special fellow would be a federal employee of the
VA, any potential VISA issues should be addressed early. Potential applicants might include those with an interest in technology as well as psychiatry, those with an interest in rural psychiatry using telemental health as an access modality, those with an interest in VA employment, or those interested in national mental health initiatives and implementation. Access to national VA and Yale resources makes this a rare and unique opportunity. I will be glad to answer any questions, and I can best be contacted at the email address Linda.Godleski2@... . Feel free to circulate this announcement and distribute widely. Thank-you, Linda Godleski, MD VHA Lead for Telemental Health, Office of Care Coordination Associate Professor of
Psychiatry, Yale School of Medicine Associate Chief of Staff for Education, VA Connecticut Healthcare Phone 203-937-3825 Email: Linda.Godleski2@...
