The WPS Northern Virginia Chapter with our colleagues in the Virginia
District Branch is working with the Medical Society of Virginia to
explore legislation that would prohibit the use of the term physician by non
MDs or DOs.  We are hearing that allied professionals are getting quite
liberal with using this term in advertisements, websites and practice marketing
materials. If you know of instances where this has occurred please
contact the WPS office by reply email as soon as you can. Our Richmond
lobbyist, Cal Whitehead can make good use of your information in convincing the
General Assembly to halt this practice.
