If anyone wants to become a Red Cross mental health volunteer, which is
an excellent way to get more experience in the psychological aspects of
disaster response, the group is providing a disaster mental health
course in June, as per this email. You would have to register and take a
prerequsite introduction to the red cross course, but I think that can
be done on line. This course is offered only sporadically, so if you
were thinking of being active in disasters, this is a real opportunity. I
will be glad to share my experience as a mental health volunteer if
anyone cares to ask.
