Description
Daily Survivors is a support group by and for ADULT (over 21 years old) survivors of child abuse (all genders welcome). If the rules below sound different and tougher than other groups, it is because they are. This group is for survivors who have progressed in their growth to the point where they can take responsibility for interacting as true peers. This means that you are going to be there for others as much as you expect others to be there for you.
Participation in this group will require the following:
- you have an existing support system.
- you have completed several years of therapy and are engaged in the healing process.
- you are currently in treatment IF you are actively symptomatic OR have frequent crises. The group is not meant to replace therapy or treatment.
- you are familiar with grounding techniques and/or self soothing techniques.
- you agree not to use spoilers. (A spoiler is when you use asterisks [*] to replace certain letters in a word to disguise the word. Example: abu*e instead of abuse)
- you agree to email the list owner (this email should be SEPARATE from applying to yahoogroups) and should include a short paragraph about yourself and your thoughts about how participation in the group will help you and what you can contribute to others in the group.
- you will introduce yourself within 24 hours upon approval of your membership.
- you will participate regularly at a pattern of no less than once every seven days. Failure to participate on a weekly basis will be considered as voluntary resignation of your group membership. We are only interested in people who are serious about their participation.
