God hears even the faintest cry for help.

When times are tough, pray harder.

God invites us to burden Him with what burdens us.

When we face a difficult or urgent conflict we can run about frantically or we can pause to pray.

God Himself does not propose to judge a man until he is dead, so why should we?

God is able to bring good out of tragedy.

God is always active, even when events in our live have slowed to a snail’s pace, we can rejoice in the assurance that.

Move Forward!
The glory of the Lord appeared... before all the children of Israel.  Numbers 14:10 NKJV
People once thought the world was flat and that you would sail off the edge. They thought man would never walk on the moon. In 1899 the US patent office almost closed because the CEO said, 'Everything that can be invented already has been.' In retrospect his statement is ridiculous. But some of us have bought into the same philosophy about our lives. We stop learning because we're 'too old.' We're afraid to change careers in case we 'jeopardise our pension.' We don't pursue our dreams in case we fail or get ridiculed. We're so accustomed to self-imposed limitations that we tell ourselves, 'I can't do that, so I can't do anything.' In essence we're building a box, crawling inside, then looking for something to blame for our lack of faith. God didn't box you in, you did, and you need to take the initiative for breaking out!
When you get down to it, there's very little difference in people. But the little difference amounts to a big difference, and the little difference is attitude; it determines whether you see life through the eyes of faith or the lens of fear. When others around him saw only giants and wanted to turn back, Caleb said, 'If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us… ' (Numbers 14:8 NKJV). At that point two things happened. First, 'All the congregation said to stone them' (v.10). Second, 'The glory of the Lord appeared in the Tabernacle.' Caleb's critics said 'no,' but God said 'yes.' All you need is God's approval. When you have it, disregard the nay-sayers and move forward!  The Word For Today

Tree Pulling
I like to garden -- but I don't like pulling weeds. I especially don't like pulling up weed trees that are growing in the middle of a flower bed or vegetable garden. Even more, I detest uprooting volunteer trees that shoot off roots of a nearby poplar! They are nearly impossible to eliminate.
Luke 17:6 - [Jesus] replied, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it will obey you." (NIV)
Why a mulberry tree? I can never recall seeing one, but some online research has turned up some interesting facts. The white mulberry can grow to be 80 feet tall and the black mulberry grows to a mere 40 feet -- but a mulberry can bear fruit for 100 years!
Imagine what it would take to dig up the roots of an eighty-foot tree, or even a forty-foot tree, by hand! The roots of a mulberry tree penetrate into the depths of the earth as far as the tree is tall -- 40 to 80 feet! Imagine trying to uproot one! What a physical impossibility!
So the mulberry tree must have represented something lasting, something permanent, something not easily uprooted -- and nearly impossible to eliminate.
Jesus said that the tiniest things, like mustard seeds, grow huge trees.
Does the future seem impossible? Is the task too wearisome? Is there more month than money? Has a foreclosure notice just arrived? Is it overwhelming? Does carrying on seem too hard?
Luke 18:27 - Jesus replied, "What is impossible with men is possible with God." (NIV)
Prayer: Lord God, enable us to look to You for what is possible, especially when everything feels impossible. Grant us mustard-seed faith that achieves the impossible. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.  --Cassandra Wessel

The Lining is Silver by Relient K
Well I found a list of flaws
That I saw in myself and other people
And I threw it away because
Bon Voyage
Why is it so easy to look at ourselves in the mirror and only see the flaws? To look over our week and only see the things that we failed at? Why do we see mistakes and faults in others so easily? Why can't we see ourselves and each other the way God sees us?
God doesn't see us as a pile of failures; he sees the perfection of Jesus living in us. He knows that even with our shortcomings and flaws, we are still his children. And when we begin to see ourselves the way God sees us, amazing things can happen.
We begin to live as the child of God that he has called us to be. We can speak truth and give grace because we are covered in it ourselves. We can love readily, because that's the way God loves. We become more accepting of others because we know that God accepted us even though we were his enemies.
2 Corinthians 5:14-17
Either way, Christ's love controls us. We believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.
So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

***********************************************************

If you don't feel like you're getting the love you should get, then maybe you should ask yourself if you're giving the love you should give.
Too often we look only at what other people are doing for us instead of what we are doing for them. However, the Bible instructs us to look out for the needs of one another, to look for ways to serve others, and to walk in love with each other.
In John 13:34-35, Jesus commands us to love: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
Love is so important, because every person needs love. People in the world are hungry for love; they're looking for a source of real, genuine love. Proverbs 19:22 tells us that What a man desires is unfailing love.
We have an opportunity to give that love, which the world desperately desires. So instead of wondering why you're not getting the love you should get, decide to give the love you should give.  --Weekly Wisdom

***********************************************************

We are supposed to be the light of the world, but you can't be a light if you're not plugged in.
Jesus calls us, his disciples, the light of the world: You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:14-16).
If you want others to see Christ in you, then you must put on love (Colossians 3:12-14) and display the Fruit of the Spirit (Matthew 7:16-20; Galatians 5:22-23).
However, that requires spending time in God's presence. Psalm 91:1-2 says, He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." The rest of Psalm 91 goes on to list amazing promises that will come true in your life if you fulfill the first two verses; that is, if you dwell in God's presence and confidently trust in Him.
In order to be a light to the world, we must stay plugged in to God by dwelling in His presence.  --Weekly Wisdom

Not If, but When
My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
— James 1:2–4
It would be nice if we could see the trials in our lives as options, as electives. It would be nice if we could say, "I'm going to skip the trials course."
But trials are going to happen in the life of every believer. Notice that James says, "Count it all joy when you fall into various trials . . . (James 1:2, emphasis mine). The phrase, "various trials," could also be translated, "many-colored trials." So no two trials or experiences are necessarily alike.
You will be tested. The question is, will you pass or fail? We must remember that God never tests us without a reason.
God's ultimate purpose is to conform us into the image of Jesus Christ. God wants to produce a family likeness in us. This means that some trials and testings will show us immediate results, while others will produce long term ones.
In other words, there are times when I can come through a trial, look back, and say, "I learned this when I went through that experience." But then there are times when I come through a difficulty, and I can't tell you what I have learned.
But what has happened, maybe unnoticed by me, is that I have become a little bit more like Jesus. He has worked in my life to mold me and shape me into His own image. It's hard to say what has resulted sometimes. But we can know that God is in control. And His ultimate purpose is to conform us into the image of His own dear Son.  --Greg Laurie

Indecent Exposure
I put on righteousness, and it clothed me.  Job 29:14
None of us wants to be indecently exposed; we make sure we’re dressed when we leave home.  But what of our spiritual clothing?  The Bible uses the command “put on” in telling us how to prepare for every day.  Job said that every day he put on the garment of righteousness and it clothed him.  Isaiah tells us to put on strength and the breastplate of righteousness (Isaiah 51:9; 59:17).  Peter said that rather than putting on costly apparel, we should wear the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit (1 Peter 3:4).  Paul wrote, “Put on the armor of light… put on the new man… put on tender mercies, kindness, and humility… put on love… put on the breastplate of faith…  put on the whole armor of God.”
It’s summed up in Romans 13:14:  “Put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.”
The process of preparing our minds and hearts for each day is as important as putting on our clothes in the morning.  Never let your soul be indecently exposed.
The best earrings that a woman can wear are the earrings of hearing the Word with attention.  --Charles Spurgeon

Candy  for Breakfast!
Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.  John 16:24
Have you ever wondered why children never hesitate to ask for anything? They have the audacity to ask if they can eat candy for breakfast, buy a toy every time they are in a store, and stay up past bedtime on a school night. And on a more practical level, they ask for something to drink when they are thirsty, help with their homework when they are struggling, and new shoes for gym class. The reason they come to their parents so freely is that they are dependent upon them, and they understand that without asking, they won’t receive.
God’s purpose in instructing us to ask Him for anything is to remind us to be dependent upon Him and give Him the glory when He provides for us. So often we rob Him of the glory and ourselves of joy when we become self-sufficient. The Bible clearly states that we do not have because we do not ask (James 4:2).
Whenever we have a need, let us try going to the Lord first. We should ask without hesitation, keep our motives in check, and expect God to provide.
He is your Shepherd, and has charged Himself with the care and keeping of you…for with such a Shepherd how could it be possible for you ever to want any good thing?  Hannah Whitall Smith

There Will Be a Day by Jeremy Camp
I know the journey seems so long
You feel you're walking on your own
But there has never been a step
Where you've walked out all alone
You've probably read the story "Footprints" by Mary Stevenson. And whether you think the poem is wonderful, or wonderfully cheesy, its message is true. Everyone is going to go through a hardship, or two, or twenty. Each time it feels like the circumstances are overwhelming and it goes on forever. And worst of all, if feels like you’re standing out there alone.
But the truth is that God never leaves us. When we get close to our breaking point, he promises to hold us and carry us the distance until we can stand on our own again.
Footprints by Mary Stevenson
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints; other times there was one only.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow, or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord, "You promised me, Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?"
The Lord replied, "When you saw only one set of footprints, my child, it was then that I carried you."
Isaiah 43:2  "When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you."

The Motions by Matthew West
This might hurt, its not safe
But I know that I've gotta make a change
I dont care if I break,
At least Ill be feeling something
Are you in a rut? Do you feel like you’re just going through the motions every day? Are you numb to the world around you? It’s easy to get so busy that you forget or don’t notice what’s going on around you. Everything around you is moving, but you feel like you’re standing still, unable to react to anything. And it’s usually in these moments that we feel the need to do something different.
We want to change something, just so that something in our life changes; so that we can begin to feel something—anything. Our actions become desperate. But taking desperate measures is not always the best move. Sometimes what we want to do is dangerous, and might even have the potential to ruin our lives. So be sure that whatever you do to get rid of the numbness and stir up your life is in line with what God would want for you. God doesn’t want you to do anything harmful or destructive to yourself or to those around you. Seek God first, take action second
Psalm 63:1  O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water.

Small Straws In A Soft Wind by Marsha Burns
A door has been opened in high places to allow a three-fold cord of demonic forces to manifest against you, says the Lord.  They are lying spirits, perverse spirits, and haughty spirits.  They will work together to attack you with false accusations, perverse judgments, and the disdainful pride of a haughty spirit.  You will be tempted to respond emotionally through condemnation and shame that will debilitate you and make it virtually impossible to rise up to do warfare.  But, I say to you, shake off the dust of rejection and stand up in the Spirit to defeat the enemy.  Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Be aware that there are issues on every level that need to be brought to a conclusion, and your tendency is to try to force a resolution.  However, trying to work these things out through your own efforts and finite understanding will not produce the best results.  Trust Me, says the Lord, and let Me establish the flow and timing that will work to the benefit of everyone involved.  I will cause you to come through in complete and satisfactory victory.  Hebrews 6:11-12 And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

The time has come when you can begin to see clearly and understand what has hindered your progression.  Look and see.  Discern and know where the enemy has stopped you and even tried to push you back.  And, when your eyes are open to see the truth, you will come to the awareness that what you thought was a barrier that you could not get beyond was only vapor of smoke and had no substance at all in reality.  Go through and move beyond the lies of the enemy that brought you to a standstill.  As soon as you have clarity, the hindrance is removed, says the Lord.  Proverbs 4:11-12   I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths.  When you walk, your steps will not be hindered, And when you run, you will not stumble.

Have I not spoken to you to give place for wrath?  I cannot bring justice as long as you take matters into your own hands.  Forgiveness is what makes a place for judgment in My kingdom, says the Lord.  I see the injustice, the reproach, and the betrayal, and certainly I will repay.  But, my wrath will also give place for conviction and repentance.  You don't have to micromanage your situation.  Trust Me to bring righteousness to every circumstance.  The only thing you have to manage is your own indignation.   Romans 12:19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord.

At this point you have moved through your current transition feeling somewhat awkward at times and moving with grace at other times.  It's been unsettling, but you've also been presented with opportunities for spiritual growth.  Now, it would be of great benefit to you to stop, be quiet, and reflect on what has actually transpired so that you can gain a perspective devoid of emotional conflict and beyond natural assessment.  What you have experienced, regardless of its level of difficulty, will actually work to your benefit, says the Lord.  Romans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

The Trumpet by Bill Burns
"Set the trumpet to your mouth!" Hosea 8:1
In a vision I saw angels bringing shields.  Their arms were full of shields that they were handing out to God’s people, shields of faith to protect us in the days ahead.  They are shields that will deflect the fiery darts of the enemy.  I heard the Lord say, receive these shields, anoint these shields, for in these days you will surely need them, for your warfare will be ramped up.  When the battle rages you will have no fear, for you are moving to a new level of faith as you receive these shields.

You, My children, have heard wisdom, for I say that indeed if you will trust Me with all of your heart, trust in Me in all of your ways, then I can perfect you, lead and guide you.  Then, I will bring you up the path that leads you higher to the new plateau.  Even though you view it from afar you cannot see the narrow path that leads upward.  But, I will show you the ways of ascension as never before, and your faith will be quickened and will cause your journey to be exciting and glorious.  I am now calling a generation to come up into that which exists in My heart for you, and I would have you to be a glorious generation, a powerful generation, a generation in whom I am establishing My dominion.  Now lift up your eyes to the heavenlies and manifest a new level of faith, a faith that transcends the natural, a faith that will lead you ever higher and establish and settle you in My purposes.  This level of faith will allow for the anointing of the warrior to come upon you so that you may experience the victory that I have for you in this very season, says the Lord.

Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled
Whenever I am troubled
and lost in deep despair
I bundle all my troubles up
and go to God in prayer...
I tell Him I am heartsick
and lost and lonely, too.
That my mind is deeply burdened
and I don't know what to do ...
But I know He stilled the tempest
and calmed the angry sea
And I humbly ask if in His love
He'll do the same for me ...
And then I just keep quiet
and think only thoughts of Peace
And if I abide in stillness
my "restless murmurings" cease.

To Travel On Your Knees
Last night I took a journey
To a land across the seas.
I didn't go by ship or plane
I traveled on my knees.
I saw so many people there
In bondage to their sin,
And Jesus told me I should go,
That there were souls to win.
But I said "Jesus, I can't go
To lands across the seas."
He answered quickly, "Yes, you can
By traveling on your knees."
He said, "You pray, I'll meet the need.
You call, and I will hear.
It's up to you to be concerned
For lost souls far and near."
And so I did; knelt in prayer,
Gave up some hours of ease,
And with the Savior by my side,
I traveled on my knees.
As I prayed on, I saw souls saved
And twisted persons healed,
I saw God's workers strength renewed
While laboring in the field.
I said, "Yes Lord, I'll take the job.
Your heart I want to please.
I'll heed Your call and swiftly go
By traveling on my knees."
By Sandra Goodwin
There is no storm Jesus won't walk over to get to you! If you put the Lord first in your life, He will be with you until the last.
O Father, thank you for being so generous. I know that I will be blessed far more than I can imagine as one of your children. Help me not to lose that hope in the face of hardship, discouragement, and persecution. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen and Amen.

Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said: "Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."  Ephesians 5:11-14

"The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever."  Isaiah 40:8

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.  Romans 1:16

Yes, LORD, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts. My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you. When your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness.  Isaiah 26:8-9

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.  Romans 15:13

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."  Matthew 6:19-21

He mocks proud mockers but gives grace to the humble.  Proverbs 3:34

Always
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit.  Ephesians 6:18
Always means in all ways and at all times.  It’s not a word to use carelessly; it’s an absolute.  Yet some always are ours by perpetual promise.  The Lord tells us to always keep His commands and to fear the Lord our God for our good always (Deuteronomy 5:29, 6:24).  Psalm 16:8 says, “I have set the LORD always before me.”  Proverbs 28:14 says, “Happy is the man who is always reverent.”  Paul testified, “I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and man” (Acts 24:16).
Jesus promised to be with us always; and we’re to be always abounding in the work of the Lord (Matthew 28:20, 1 Corinthians 15:58).  We ought always to pray and not to lose heart (Luke 18:1), and to always do what pleases Him (John 8:29).
The Bible says:  “Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way,” for He “always leads us in triumph in Christ” (2 Thessalonians 3:16; 2 Corinthians 2:14).  So we’re always confident, always having sufficiency in all things (2 Corinthians 5:8, 9:8).
That’s why we can rejoice always! (1 Thessalonians 5:16).
Take my voice, and let me sing always, only, for my King.  --Frances Havergal

If you want true life, you must have the Word of Life.
To many people, physical life is deemed to be the measure of whether or not one has life. However, true life—spiritual life—requires more than a beating heart. That's because we are spiritually hungry and thirsty people constantly looking for answers to life's persistent problems. Often, we look to idols like education, money, and success for those answers. However, real solutions for real life come only from the Author of Life—God, himself.
True life—the type so many people hunger and thirst for—can only be found in Christ. In John 6:35, Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." Obviously, Jesus isn't talking about physical hunger; instead, He is talking about spiritual hunger.
Not only will Jesus satisfy your spiritual hunger, but He will also quench your spiritual thirst: "To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life" (Revelation 21:6).
That verse refers back to Isaiah 55:1-2, where God says, "Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare."
Therefore, stop trying to seek worldly things for satisfaction, because worldly pleasures are temporary. Instead, heed the advice of Isaiah 55:6: "Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near."
God is the source of all life, and if you want true life, you must have God's Word of Life.  Weekly Wisdom

Everyday things become of little meaning in the face of death.
In Western culture, many people place great value on possessions and on what one owns. This greedy mentality is embodied in the phrase: "He who dies with the most toys wins."
Yet when you die, you can't take anything with you: Naked a man comes from his mother's womb, and as he comes, so he departs (Ecclesiastes 5:15). It's no wonder that, when faced with the immediacy of death, one most easily realizes that everyday things are meaningless in the scope of eternity.
In Philippians 3:5-6, Paul lists many reasons why he could boast about himself. Yet, he recognizes that they pale in comparison to eternity, which is why he considers them rubbish in order to gain Christ (Philippians 3:9).
All this "stuff" we chase after will be gone. Therefore, make it your aim to live with eternal purpose and invest in eternal things; to spend all you have on what lasts forever.  Author Unknown

Never Be the Same by RED
I just can't walk away 'cause after loving you
I can never be the same
Have you ever reached the point where you feel like following God is just too hard? Most of us have. And that's okay. Following God isn't always easy. Sometimes it's hard, and can feel nearly impossible. But those are the times we need to remember what it was like when we first believed, how it felt, and how it changed our life.
You see, falling in love with God changes you. Once you experience his boundless grace and unending love, you are never the same again. When you're tired of following him, remember how it feels to be cradled and cared for by the Almighty. Remember that you're not the same person you were before: he's made himself part of you by giving you his Holy Spirit.
Hebrews 10:35-36  So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God's will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.

Lord, it is my choice
That only your voice
Is the one I want to hear
You are the One I want to be near
Lord I pray today that all I do
Will be pleasing in your eyes
Lord we know that You
Are the only One who is truly wise
So before we start
We seek Your counsel
With all our hearts
We surrender to You all control
Your will, not ours, be done
Today and beyond

Read Through The Bible
Numbers 21
Canaanites Defeated at Hormah
1 The king of Arad, the Canaanite, who dwelt in the South, heard that Israel was coming on the road to Atharim. Then he fought against Israel and took some of them prisoners. 2 So Israel made a vow to the LORD, and said, “If You will indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities.” 3 And the LORD listened to the voice of Israel and delivered up the Canaanites, and they utterly destroyed them and their cities. So the name of that place was called Hormah.
The Bronze Serpent
4 Then they journeyed from Mount Hor by the Way of the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom; and the soul of the people became very discouraged on the way. 5 And the people spoke against God and against Moses: “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and our soul loathes this worthless bread.” 6 So the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many of the people of Israel died. 7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD and against you; pray to the LORD that He take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. 8 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.” 9 So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.

10 Now the children of Israel moved on and camped in Oboth. 11 And they journeyed from Oboth and camped at Ije Abarim, in the wilderness which is east of Moab, toward the sunrise. 12 From there they moved and camped in the Valley of Zered. 13 From there they moved and camped on the other side of the Arnon, which is in the wilderness that extends from the border of the Amorites; for the Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the Amorites. 14 Therefore it is said in the Book of the Wars of the LORD: “ Waheb in Suphah, The brooks of the Arnon, 15 And the slope of the brooks That reaches to the dwelling of Ar, And lies on the border of Moab.” 16 From there they went to Beer, which is the well where the LORD said to Moses, “Gather the people together, and I will give them water.” 17 Then Israel sang this song: “ Spring up, O well! All of you sing to it  18 The well the leaders sank, Dug by the nation’s nobles, By the lawgiver, with their staves.”And from the wilderness they went to Mattanah, 19 from Mattanah to Nahaliel, from Nahaliel to Bamoth, 20 and from Bamoth, in the valley that is in the country of Moab, to the top of Pisgah which looks down on the wasteland.
King Sihon Defeated
21 Then Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, saying, 22 “Let me pass through your land. We will not turn aside into fields or vineyards; we will not drink water from wells. We will go by the King’s Highway until we have passed through your territory.” 23 But Sihon would not allow Israel to pass through his territory. So Sihon gathered all his people together and went out against Israel in the wilderness, and he came to Jahaz and fought against Israel. 24 Then Israel defeated him with the edge of the sword, and took possession of his land from the Arnon to the Jabbok, as far as the people of Ammon; for the border of the people of Ammon was fortified. 25 So Israel took all these cities, and Israel dwelt in all the cities of the Amorites, in Heshbon and in all its villages. 26 For Heshbon was the city of Sihon king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab, and had taken all his land from his hand as far as the Arnon. 27 Therefore those who speak in proverbs say: “Come to Heshbon, let it be built; Let the city of Sihon be repaired.
28 “For fire went out from Heshbon, A flame from the city of Sihon; It consumed Ar of Moab, The lords of the heights of the Arnon. 29 Woe to you, Moab! You have perished, O people of Chemosh! He has given his sons as fugitives, And his daughters into captivity, To Sihon king of the Amorites. 30 “But we have shot at them; Heshbon has perished as far as Dibon. Then we laid waste as far as Nophah, Which reaches to Medeba.”
31 Thus Israel dwelt in the land of the Amorites. 32 Then Moses sent to spy out Jazer; and they took its villages and drove out the Amorites who were there.
King Og Defeated
33 And they turned and went up by the way to Bashan. So Og king of Bashan went out against them, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei. 34 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Do not fear him, for I have delivered him into your hand, with all his people and his land; and you shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon.” 35 So they defeated him, his sons, and all his people, until there was no survivor left him; and they took possession of his land.
