The school my children goes to is getting together supplies that one of the
local pastors and several members of the Church are going to drive down to
Gulfport either the end of this week or the weekend. They are hoping to have a
full trailer load by the end of the week. Whenever the trailer is loaded
that is when they are leaving. It is all of the area schools and several of
the Churches so it won't be too hard to fill it. But, if anyone wants to send
stuff here I will be happy to take it to the school so it can get on that
trailer. I know there are several other places in Tupelo that have drop offs
for supplies. Even the Wal Marts have huge trailers set up out front and
people just go in the store and buy stuff and bring it out to the trailer. If
they want, they can also bring stuff that wasn't purchase at Wal Mart. I have
seen at least 10 different places like this that I would trust to get the
items to the people who need them.
I suggested the school first because I am going to be involved personally
with helping to get the stuff loaded. I know the preacher in charge of putting
this thing together, his daughter plays softball and is one of Valerie's
best friends. I am sure he is honest and trustworthy.
