It is supposed to be a joke, but after reading the following and thinking
about it, I wonder if this isn't how people sometimes jump to the conclusions
they do about Cystic Fibrosis. In their minds they have associated CF with
other diseases that they actually have no relationship to at all.

It was sent to me as:
Here's a one question IQ test to help you decide how you should spend the
rest of your day. If you are reasonable in your response, go ahead, enjoy your
day. If not, you may want to consider starting the day over.

There is a mute who wants to buy a toothbrush. By imitating the action of
brushing one's teeth, he successfully expresses himself to the shopkeeper and
the purchase is done.

Now, if there is a blind man who wishes to buy a pair of sunglasses, how
should he express himself?

ANSWER: He opens his mouth and says, "I would like to buy a pair of
sunglasses."

FACT: More people used their hands to demonstrate the sunglasses or
something similar than came up with the correct response. Don't feel bad if
you are
one of them. :)

I think this is why some people who do not know what Cystic Fibrosis is try
to explain it in ways that are sometimes totally off base. This is why we
really need to increase awareness of CF, so people won't have to guess at what
it is.
