Hi,
Some CFers do not show many signs, or any signs of the CF, until they are
much older.
Because she is so young the sweat test is not reliable. If it shows a
negative this does not mean she definitely does not have CF. A re-test might
need to be done later in life when she is older, and/or a DNA test (which
can be useful for seeing if she is a carrier too).
There is a possibility that you are also a carrier like your sister, yes.
But I think its only a 2/4 chance or a 1/4 chance of you being a carrier.
If both your partner and yourself are a carrier then your daughter has a 1/4
chances of having CF, a 2/4 chance of being a carrier, and a 1/4 chance of
being not a carrier (and therefore no CF either!). Hopefully your partner is
not a carrier, which therefore means your daughter does not have CF.
Good luck and keep us updated!! My thought and prayers are with you,
~ Rach
