hello my daughter is 9 and she has had this all her life. Her
episodes were 1 time a year 3 days long unless she got an infection.
well in Oct 04 she got an episode and it went for 5 days she has had
7 episodes since oct 04 till present all of them lasting 5 days. her
triggers are some foods maybe some stress, but her biggest one is
positive excitement( b-day partys, Easter, X-mas, and etc). she takes
periactin and it has spaced her cycles out. she tried Zofran and the
shots seemed to slow it down, but no stopping it. the wafers sorry
but they suck. i need to try the other one, but they want to try to
increase her zofran next time, they want to start with the shot and
then go to the wafer. she is 9 yrs old and weighs about 35-40 lbs, do
you guys think that 8mg of zofran is to much. also we have been in er
many times and also had many hospital stays. we have been trying to
keep her home during the cycles, but sometimes i wonder if im doing
the right thing? she dosen't get to dehdrated, we just pump the
fluids down her atleast she has something to yhrow up. she dosent
seem to have stomach pain, nor does she have a head ache. she dosen't
say much about how she feels or anything. it sucks cause if she could
tell us before the cycle maybe we could stop it. i truely believe
once it starts it dosen't stop till its done. it might slow it down
some, but stopping it is the trick. thanks for listening
