The doctor is right you dont need the zofran. Takes to long to work anyways.
There are 3 medications that i take as needed they are. .05 mg of clonipins 2
times daily and more if needed. 2 I have clonipin wafer (these pills are
clonipins but they disolve under the tounge great when trhowing up and cant stop
and sick of going to hospital. Finally the miracle that keeps me safe believe it
of not I take the medical marijauna pill (Marinol) Highest dosage. It helps my
stomach calm down, be able to eat again, and totally prevents an attack i have
not had one in 3 months. For these pills they are expencive but they are they
best i have had it for 3 years and have not stop in my quest for a cure. I
believe that these 3 medicines alone will make a dramadic difference in you life
you will be thanking me for years to come good luck with it i know it had but
stay positive. On a side no when an eppisode starts some can be prevented till
the bvomiting then go to hospital....but before the attack
the pre symptoms when you wake up (typically not enough sleep) i use a HOT HOT
bath or shower and let it run till bath fills up. The heat takes the pain off of
my stomach. Any more information you would like let me know at.... Nicholas

I am a 49 year old female who has suffered with CVS since my mid teens.
I have episodes approximently every 4 to 8 weeks, uasally starting 1
to 2 hours after waking. When I was younger an episodes would last
about 8 to 10 hours, I'd fall asleep and wake up as though nothing
happened. Early on I'd go to the Dr's and/or hospital and I'd be
diagonosed as stomach flu, food poisoning, Gasteritus. . . and sent
home. I did X-rays, bariam test, blood work, EKG's. . .nothing. When
I realized that I would live through the episodes I stopped going, to
the Dr./hospital and let the episodes run it's course. Very hard on
the family, especially after I got married and had kids. I'd be down
for two or three days. Plus the older I got the longer the
episodes/recovery took.
After a particulary bad episode in June of 2004, I hit the internet
and googled "vomiting" and "Ta-Da!!!!!" up popped the CVS web site. My
prayers have been answered. I went to my Dr. with and armload of
information. She had heard of it from med school, but wasn't so sure
of my self diagnosis. So I keep a CVS diary for a couple of months,
and went to the emergency room during an episode The ER Dr. had never
heard of it, and wasn't happy with my self diagnosis either, but he
did some research on the Web. I got the IV drip for dehydration,
Compazine, and Benadryl for sedation. Worked like a charm. For what
ever reason he did not want to give me Zofran. Anyway I slept for a
couple of hours and was sent home. Back to Dr.'s office she still
didnot want to refer me to specialist. So with a perscription of
Compazine Suppositories, and Benadryl for sedation I have been
episonde free for 10 months. At the first nauseous feeling I do the
suppository, (yuk!!!) but it has worked for me. I still feel awful
for a couple of hours and if the nuaseous persists I use the Benadryl
for sedation, sleep a couple of hours and good as new.
So now I must work in getting complete relief, I'll go back to the Dr.
with the latest info, co Q10 and Carnitor and see what she says.
My family could not be happier for me. Thanks for all your advice,
guidance, and support.
