RE: [Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome] New to the Board

She was on the Zofran through her IV at the hospital and then in pill form when
she got home, we
went 5 more days w/the vomiting at home and then they sent us to Yale. After 3
nights there she
was better and came home before New Years. Seems that this episode lasted the
longest, 19 days to
be exact. She lost 14.5 pounds. We have a follow up with her pediatric GI
specialist at Yale on
Tues, he will give me more medication then.

Beth

We are in Connecticut, we are military. The doctors here don't know much of CVS, most look at us like HUH? I am sure that you all have had the same...

Jamie's experience dictates otherwise -- Zofran is effective during an episode, but it takes 15-25 minutes to take effect, so you need to keep it down that...

Zofran works great for my 14 year old, even if she is actively puking. I have learned, though, to administer her Zofran at the first sign of a stomach ache or...

How many mg's is she taking, my daughter was on 12mg at the hospital in her IV every 8 hours, and it still didn't help, I am sure it is different for each...

I think taking the Zofran a little more aggressively, such as my daughter, or Jamie, in increased dosages, helps the Zofran work better. We have had good luck...
