I am new to this group and have been so busy trying to control my daughter's
cycle that I have been unable to post anything. She is doing better now, and I
see a subject I have minimal knowledge about: Zofran.
My daughter had been in remission for four years, however, she started vomiting
May 10th and vomited numerous times each day. After two local admissions,
numerous ER visits, a trip to Chicago and one to Indianapolis, we are finally
achieving some success managing this never-ending cycle. My daughter is 13 yrs
old, and started Zofran approximately three weeks ago. Once it is absorbed into
her system, it works for her. she is typically fine for the following 6-10
hours. She receives almost immediate relief from all symptoms, including the
severe stomach ache, and can even eat once the Zofran has been absorbed into her
system. As soon as the Zofran wears off, however, she begins to vomit again. I
have heard of a lot of children that are taking Zofran for CVS, and of some who
take Zofran with Atavan, or other meds, enhancing the effect and receiving
positive results from the mixture. Our GI doc does not want to add anything new
to her regimen because we have removed some other meds and want to see if that
could have been what was triggering the episodes. I am happy with the
effectiveness of Zofran, I just wish we could stop the cycle completely.

Not sure on this one.

For my wife, 20-30 min.

Just lessens the nausea, it's still there though. Like getting a shot of
morphine for a broken leg -- not normal, but better.
