Re: [Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome] Re: CVS

Hi Sarah,
I'm going to forward your letter to my 29 yr old daughter who has CVS. I
hope you two can correspond.

Hello,
Thanks for your reply's, coping with CVS is extremely
difficult and knowing there's other people out there also going
through this is comforting I feel so sorry for little ones it's hard
enough at my age but to be so young with little understanding must
be terrible, I'm finding it harder as time goes by because I feel
I'm missing more and more of my life While my friends are off to
university and new jobs I'm stuck at home, waiting to spend a couple
of days with my head in a bucket, not much of a life is it?

I have gone down the herbal remedy path trying a number of things,
right now I'm on valerian, suggested by another CVS sufferer. I also
don't believe giving (drug) medications to such young children
especially with the different side affects some have. I started
trying different medications at 18 because nothing else was working
and I was desperate for some relief as the episodes were increasing
and finally I have found a medication that actually helps to lower
the episodes.

My family also thought I was "nuts" why is she always vomiting yet
every test comes back clear? She must be doing it to herself. It's
bad enough that you're so sick without having everyone think you're
crazy. And also I use to drink cartons and cartons of apple juice
just to throw it back up, well I was going to throw back up anyway I
just wanted it to be a little less painful and the few minutes of
relief from the intense nausea is well worth it. I just wish there
could have been a quicker way to have been diagnosed instead of
going through 4 years of hell.

I'd love to chat with any other adult sufferer going through this I
need all the support I can get at the moment; it's so hard to go
through this alone.
