I'm so sorry that Gina's episodes come so quickly. Dehydration is a huge factor
in Andrew's case and we still don't understand how it fits in. He only vomits a
small amount 3X before he's acidotic and doesn't even have fluids left in his
mouth and eyes. I'm still researching how that ties in. You know this diagnosis
hasn't sunk in yet. I'm still coming to terms with the fact that this a long
term problem. Trying to figure out how to take care of my family and Andrew all
at one time. I left my job after this last bout and the realization that we were
going to be in & out of the hospital every 6-8 weeks. With him he goes down so
quickly that he has to be rushed to the ER to be sedated and IV'd.

eeegads! Were you relieved with the diagnosis?? Has he ever been hospitalized
for dehydration? My daughter is going through testys rightnow and the doc is
leaning toward cvs....she has been doing this for almost two years, but the
*well* times are shorter....we have been having 72 hrs of well time between
episodes:-( .

Hi my name is Misty and my 6 year old son was just diagnosed with
CVS. He has been vomitting every 6 weeks since he was a year old and
the episodes can last up to 9 days. Last Dec he was also dignosed
with a malrotation of the bowel which we had thought was the root of
the vomitting until he continued the vomitting shortly after the
surgery. During the last hospital stay and more tests than I thought
could ever be run on one child the diagnosis came in as CVS. I'm
still new to this whole thing and exploring my options and maybe
looking for other people to run all of the new things they tell me
by. Thanks for listening and I'm looking forward to getting to know
all of you.

cvs was one of the first things that my pediatrician mentioned, so fingers
crossed...Isabella is as textbook as one can get with this

I wish that I could tell you that they find the diagnosis quick but
we have been doing testing and treatments and drugs for close to 4
years and we just got the diagnosis back. Good luck and remember that
you really have to push in your daughters best interests.
