Sorry, I haven't check in with this hotline lately. As I had stated earlier
my son has not been sick since the beginning of Nov. He was getting sick every
2 weeks and yes he was going in the hot tub constantly`. He was in complete
denial about pot causing his vomiting. As a parent who has "been there, done
that" I was not pushing him to quit, I only wanted him to get better. He lost
30 pounds in one week during an episode! Eventually he came to the conclusion
on his own to quit smoking for a while and see if it worked because numerous
doctors around here told him that was the cause. When he quit, he stopped
puking. When he started again it took about 6 weeks for him to get sick again
which is when it reached toxic levels. Now he still smokes, but only on
occasion and if he feels that he is doing it too much(he's 18) he will take a
week off to clean out his system. So far it has worked. I keep wondering why
about 5 different
doctors here told him about this while it sounds like other doctors around the
country think it's crazy. All I can think of is that we live in Vail, CO where
the general population is extremely young(ski bums). They have seen a handful
of patients with the same problem. Nonetheless, whatever works is what we are
going with. I will be honest and keep in touch if he gets sick again not caused
from pot. My only hope is that if it works for him, it will work for someone
else with CVS.
