My daughter suffered for many years before being told she has CVS
(almost 2 years ago). With medication she was lucky enough to go
several months without a full blown eposide. 3 days before her wedding
she ended up in the ER. Dr. wanted to keep her to try to get the
vomiting under control but she refused. Her friends are accustomed to
her illness and joked about putting puke bags at various locations down
the ailse. With the help of Zofran she was married Sat. without any
mishaps. We had plans just in case, but it was wonderful to finally see
her enjoy a exciting day without getting sick.
I often thought she would never have a "normal" life with CVS. Maybe
it isn't totally "normal" but she married a wonderful man, is almost
finished with college (took longer than expected)and feels ready to
find employment (may take a certain type of employer).
I still worry about what the future may hold for her but don't all
parents feel that way even if the child is totally healthy?
