Ive never posted anything anywhere so bear with me please!!
Quick history(as quick as I can make it)
My daughter started vomiting episodes when she was about 3 years old-
the only thing that would stop it was taking her to the ER for
rehydration. It went on every few months-sometimes quiet as long as
6 months-sometimes 3 months. Otherwise very healthy, feeling fine.
She seemed to be textbook for cvs-only no mirgranes and no family
histroy of migranes. Sometime brought on by events and other times
no explanation at all.
She missed the first day of school from K thru 3rd grade because of
vomiting episodes and obviously many other events and such. We lived
in Japan from 2000-2003 where she was never really treated for the
underlying cause but by 3rd grade we moved to Virginia and she was
getting worse and worse-missing several days of school each week. We
got into see a ped gastro dr. and had every test under the sun.
Finally an ultrasound of her abdomen revealed that she was extremely
constipated. We gave her that magnesium stuff and that was april of
2004. She has never had another episode since.
Now she is 13-recently had her first menstrual cycle only once though-
in the last few months-but she has had abdominal pain for about a
month. She had an x ray that showed she was constipated-but she had
been going everyday and didnt feel constipated-so that was a surprise.
One week of miralax and still she had pain-then a ct scan of abdomen
which showed nothing abnormal.
Im current trying to get back to the ped gasto we saw years ago
because Im worried she will start vomiting again.
