I don’t know how active this list is because this is the first message I
have received, but I will answer your question for you…



I am 44 and I only got diagnosed with CVS this past March, after 4 years of
repeated episodes. Unfortunately, my cycle has been monthly and I have spent
no less than 2 weeks of every month in 2007 in the hospital with CVS.



In between bouts – I appear to be fairly “normal” though I do have the same
symptoms of hot/cold extremes – usually when an attack is approaching and I
am ALWAYS freezing when I get put in the hospital.


I am lucky in the fact that I live in CA and so I have the BEST adult CVS
Dr. there is on my case – and I too have had to apply for benefits, as Dr.
Feldman has labeled me as 100% disabled due to this disease.

Subject: [Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome] New DX of CVS



Hello all, my name is Brooke, I am a 29 year old married Mommy of a 9
year old boy. I live in SW Florida. I have just recently been
diagnosed with CVS. I have had this for about 2 years now, and finally
we might know what it is. I'm very sad to hear their isn't a way to
make it all go away. I work for a very large cable company and am in
jepoardy of losing my job of over 4 years beacuse I have exhaused all
of my sick time for the year, so I had to apply for FMLA. I hope it
gets approved, I know I will get sick again.

Can anyone tell me what they are like in between periods of vomiting?
I sweat like crazy and then I am freezing cold and shivering. My
last "episode" I threw up for 17 hours in the ER, I ended up being
admitted for 3 days of testing!! NOT FUN.

Anyway...I am SOOOO glad that I'm not alone with this, I was beginning
to think I was a freak of nature or something.
