Hi Ann-- I wish I had suggestions... I just wanted to let you know that my son
also struggles with severe constipation... I feel it must somehow be related to
the cvs? Good luck over there! Mimi

Hello everyone. My son, Sam, is being admitted this evening for a clean
out. He has had CVS for 4 years and one thing that triggers his
episodes is when his bowel backs up and hits the bottom of his stomach.
He takes Miralax on a daily basis which does not seem to help. In March
he was not going #2 so we gave him Magnesium Citrate in hopes to clear
what was in there. It did not help much. He then saw his doc who told
us to do yet another Mag Citrate treatment. Which again did not work.
Then amongst playing phone tag with his doc again, he got put back on
the Miralax. The doc finally sent him for a abdominal x-ray that told
her just what I have been telling her all along. He is backed up. That
diagnosis did not require a PhD. So she had us do yet another Mag
Citrate treatment this weekend and low and behold no poop. At this
point it has been a month and a half since this all started and he has
only pooped maybe 10 times. Here is the weird part...he has a very
healthy appetite, drinks plenty of fluid, and is not in any pain at all.
Which doesn't make any sense with constipation. I am now awaiting a
call from the doc to tell us what to do next, and it is 5:42pm. So we
may not even get a call. This is aggrevating. He has always had bowel
problems yet no one wants to find out the problem. All they want to do
is temporarily fix. I cannot keep going like this. Has anyone
experienced this? Any suggestions on tests I should demand?

Thanks for listening!

Ann Keen
