Yes, it could be CVS.
However, it could be (and most likely is) something else.
There are quite a number of things that could cause your son's symptoms.
As you have already done, it is so important to consult his doctor. Let him
know that your son is still ill.
Ask the physician what the plan is for determining the cause of your son's
illness and if there is none, then ask for a referral to a gastroenterologist.
At the very least, your son should have some bloodwork and radiology studies.
