An Invitation From Neale Donald Walsch
2007 ‘Around the World in Oneness’ Tour
Dear Teammates:
I would like to make an observation I have made before. I would also like to propose a new Prime Value for our movement.
Everywhere in our world today people seem to be “taking sides.” One is for “this” and against “that.” It is almost as if teams are forming, and that we are somehow in competition with each other for everything: God’s love, the earth’s resources, power and money, fame and influence, even the most basic necessities.
As conditions across the globe become more and more critical, it seems impossible for any of us to remain “neutral” in this process. The pressure to “take sides” is enormous. Yet who will be on Humanity’s Team?
That is the question I heard in my head during a deep sleep on a November morning five years ago. I awoke with a start, and then I realized what work there was for all of us to do on our planet. In answer to the question, more than 15,000 people in more than 90 nations worldwide have joined together to form Humanity’s Team, a global outreach of love and compassion, education and spiritual renewal that invites humanity to re-create itself anew, one person, one village, one city, and one nation at a time.
Now it is time to take that invitation to all the world. And in 2007 that will occur during the Humanity’s Team “Around the World in Oneness” tour — visiting 12 cities in 11 countries on six continents in 39 days, from March 22 through April 29. This extraordinary tour will present stimulating daytime activities and wonderful evening events to which everyone who sincerely wishes to assist in creating and experiencing humanity’s unity will be invited.
Why? Because the current way in which we have created ourselves is not working. It is not functional. It is not producing happiness nor ending suffering for the largest number of beings inhabiting the earth.
We are rapidly reaching the limit in terms of how long we can go on like this. Our lifestyle — economically, politically, environmentally, socially, spiritually — cannot sustain itself within the framework of currently established and accepted systems, beliefs, and norms.
A
We need a new way of being human. We need a new way of thinking about ourselves, about each other, about life — and about God. For the ways in which we think about God produce the ways in which we behave with each other.
This message, and more — a message of hope for tomorrow — are being carried to people everywhere by Humanity’s Team every day. And the 2007 “Around the World in Oneness” tour will elevate the visibility of that message to globally impacting proportions.
The tour will also launch a five-year multi-organizational World Oneness campaign seeking worldwide recognition and support of “unity within diversity.” This tour and the follow-on campaign will show that our unity — that our oneness — is a “missing message” humanity is now ready to embrace.
As you know, we call Humanity’s Team — your own remarkable grassroots movement — “a civil rights movement for the soul,” freeing humanity at last from the oppression of its beliefs in a violent, angry, and vindictive God, and its creation of a violent, angry, and vindictive way of life on Earth.
With your help and your support of the Humanity’s Team “Around the World in Oneness” tour, we can create a new cultural story for our species, a new idea from ourselves about ourselves. The idea is simple, yet it is spiritually, culturally, socially, politically, and economically revolutionary. If embraced, it would dramatically alter our spiritual experience, our cultural norms, our social habits and interactions, our political processes, and the earth’s entire economic system.
This revolutionary idea is not new. It is simply revolutionary. The idea is that We Are All One.
What a simple, pure, direct statement. It is so simple, so short in its articulation, that if we are not careful we will miss its massive implications. If we actually adopted on this planet the idea that We Are All One as a working model, as our operative philosophy, as our new Prime Value, everything would change on the earth overnight.
Humanity’s Team has been holding Life Itself as the Prime Value. But I observe that this is fraught with complexity and confusion. Too many questions can still remain. What do we mean by “life”? And what serves “life” as the Prime Value?
I want to suggest a new Prime Value that could come closer than any Prime Value we have ever embraced to ending violence and suffering on our planet. Let us change the Prime Value from
If Oneness was the global thought, the Prime Value, the idea that we send ourselves from ourselves about ourselves — the value that we are imbued with, that we hold sacred and that we instinctively serve first — we would quickly create a new system of economics, a new process of politics, a new expression of religion, a new way of life altogether. We would bring an end to Separation Theology — a theology that insists that God is “over there” and that we are “over here.”
It is clear to me that a Separation Theology produces a Separation Sociology that produces a Separation Pathology. Our sense of separation from God creates a pathology of separation from everything, including each other (indeed, including even our selves), that permeates all human interaction and creates humanity’s experience.
It is our insistence that we are separate beings living separate experiences that produces the conflict and the suffering in our world. The intent of Humanity’s Team — and of the “Around the World in Oneness” tour and the five-year World Oneness campaign it is producing — is to create a massive shift in global consciousness and to bring an end, at last, to the divisiveness, conflict, and violence on our planet. We seek to bring the World Entire closer to its centuries-old dream of peace on Earth, goodwill to humans everywhere.
I am asking you to please join me in support of this dream by supporting in every way you can the Humanity’s Team “Around the World in Oneness” tour. On this tour I will answer the question that I am asked more often than any other: “What can I do to make the world a better place? Can I really help change the way things are?”
The answer, and the simplicity of the answer, will amaze you. We also hope it will inspire you.
See you on the tour!
Love always,
Neale Donald Walsch
